Presentation Submission Guidelines

Introduction

All speakers are asked to submit an electronic copy of their presentation slides and/or notes for inclusion in the Proceedings. The Proceedings will be available for viewing on the Web site and for purchase on a DVD. This educational tool is an excellent resource for our members and attendees to tap into, long after the conference has concluded.

Though every attempt will be made to include your submission in the SHARE User Events Proceedings, only those submissions that adhere to the following guidelines can be included:

Submission Format

  • Submit proceedings files in PDF format!
    This is the preferred format for submission. Doing so ensures speakers that the highest quality of their work appears on the Web site and Proceedings DVD.

    For more information on using Adobe Acrobat to create a PDF file, please visit http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrobat.html. If you do not have a copy of Adobe Acrobat, there are several alternatives available.

  • Also accepted:
    • Lotus Freelance
    • Lotus Word Pro
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Word
    • Rich Text Format
    • HTML

If you would like to submit another file type, please contact SHARE/USERblue Headquarters, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Deadlines for Submissions

  • Early Submission
    Submit your presentation before 12:00 pm CST on Friday, August 12, 2005, and you will meet one of the two criteria for a $25 gift certificate.

  • Final Submission
    In order to be included on the Proceedings DVD, all presentations must be received before 12:00 pm CST on September 2, 2005.

Submission Requirements

  1. Please name your file according to the naming convention: s##iia.pdf
    • "s" stands for session
    • "##" is the session number
    • "ii" represents the speaker's initials. This is helpful identifying a particular session if there are multiple speakers.
    • "a" is to specify multiple files for the same session (Example: s1234jja.pdf, s1234jjb.pdf, etc.). Please name files in the order you would like them to appear. For sessions with multiple speakers, it is the responsibility of the speakers to coordinate the assignment of order, and thereby the assignment of letters at the time of submission.

  2. Please zip files larger than 1 MB prior to submitting.

Copyright Information

    Upon submission of your information, you grant SHARE Inc., a non-exclusive license to copy, reproduce or republish your presentation in whole, or in part, for SHARE activities only, and the further right to permit others to copy, reproduce, or republish your presentation in whole, or in part, so long as such permission is consistent with SHARE's By-laws, Canons of Conduct or other directives of the SHARE Board of Directors.
